Sherri Churchill’s journey to founding Churchill’s Lighthouse Inc. is a story of grace, redemption, and transformation. At just fifteen years old, Sherri faced a heartbreaking decision that would forever shape her faith and her future—an abortion that took the life of her daughter, Keiah L. Churchill. The pain of that loss became a silent weight she carried for years, one she tried to bury beneath strength and busyness.
But God had a greater plan. Through years of personal healing, prayer, and the unconditional love of Christ, Sherri began to see how her deepest wound could become a wellspring of compassion. The Lord turned her pain into purpose, calling her to create a place where women could heal, rebuild, and discover hope again.
In memory of her daughter Keiah, Sherri founded Churchill’s Lighthouse Inc., a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to illuminating paths for single mothers, families, and individuals seeking restoration. What began as a vision birthed in brokenness has grown into a beacon of hope—a sanctuary offering shared living homes, mentorship, life-skills programs, and spiritual support for women and families in need.
Through initiatives like the Healing Hearts Post-Abortion Support Group, Mommy & Me Shared Living Program, and Feed West Louisville, Sherri continues to live out her calling: to love others through Christ and to remind every woman that “your story isn’t over—God can redeem it all.”
Today, Sherri stands as a wife, mother, grandmother, and community leader who uses her story to shine God’s light into the darkest places. Her life embodies the scripture that guides Churchill’s Lighthouse:
“You will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.” – Isaiah 58:12
What once was pain is now purpose. What once was shame is now testimony. Through Churchill’s Lighthouse Inc., Sherri continues to lead with faith, compassion, and the belief that healing begins when we bring our stories into the light.

Read MoreEvery year, countless young women face an unexpected pregnancy without stable housing or support. Many struggle with fear, uncertainty, and the difficult reality of navigating pregnancy while unhoused. At Churchill’s Lighthouse Inc., we are committed to changing that. We provide more than emergency shelter—we offer a safe, faith-based sanctuary where pregnant teens and first-time mothers can find guidance, emotional support, essential resources, and the opportunity to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
In 2016, God placed a vision in our hearts — a vision to create a safe haven for women, mothers, and children in need of love, stability, and hope. What began as a dream called Churchill’s House of Hope was rooted in prayer and a deep belief that God would provide the way, even when we couldn’t see it yet.
Through seasons of waiting, refining, and trusting, we learned that faith is not about seeing the entire path—it’s about taking the next step with God leading the way. Every delay had a divine purpose. Every “not yet” was shaping our hearts for the “now.”
In 2023, after years of prayer and perseverance, we received a miracle — a house was donated to our ministry! That moment was a powerful reminder that God never forgets His promises. It was also the beginning of transformation.
In 2024, God impressed upon our hearts to make a change — to walk fully in His new direction and rename our ministry from Churchill’s House of Hope to Churchill’s Lighthouse Inc. The name reflects what we’ve always been called to be: a light in the darkness, guiding mothers and families toward healing, faith, and purpose.
Then came another answered prayer. In 2025, we were awarded a $125,000 grant to completely renovate our houses — proof that when God ordains a vision, He also provides the provision. Every wall, every room, every space will soon shine as a reflection of His love and restoration.
And in 2026, we will celebrate the Grand Opening of Churchill’s Lighthouse Inc., a sanctuary dedicated to pregnant women and first-time moms — a place where faith meets action, hope meets housing, and lives are transformed by the power of God’s love.
Through it all, we’ve learned this unshakable truth: God’s timing is perfect. His plan is better. And when you wait on Him, He always exceeds what you imagined.
Our journey is living proof that the power of prayer, patience, and trust in God’s promises leads to miracles. Churchill’s Lighthouse stands as a beacon of that faith — a testimony to what happens when you let go, let God, and let His light shine through you.
